Earthquake's Father's Day Comedy Show

Earthquake & Friends Father’s Day Celebration 2017

SOLD OUT

MY GOD! MY GOD! What an extreme laugh-out-loud Father's Day with Earthquake, DeRay Davis, Donnell Rawlings, Luenell, Lil Duval and Chico Bean that opened with loud and raunchy language, Sunday, June 18, 2017, NJPAC, Newark, NJ.

Earthquake and Friends returned and graced the NJPAC for the third year in a row and no doubt, came prepared to shock and quake the very foundation of Fathers! The show opened with Comedian Rayshawn and from there the comedic torch was lit with AARP and WIC cards and immigration stories. But of them all, "pop...make sure the wig is on tight" jokes were hilarious.

More than that, kicking-off the show, since his breakout performance in the one-man stand-up special About Got Damn Time, Nathaniel Stroman adorned in all white, best known as "Earthquake" featured on the big screen in Getting Played with Vivica A. Fox, in the animated Barnyard and in the video game of the same title, and continues to do so on the TV series spinoff, as well as in Kevin Smith’s Clerks II, blew my mind completely.

Everything from wishing Fathers a happy day to President Donald Trump, single men and trans-genders (no offense), that included Caitlyn Jenner, Alicia Keys and his own Mother raising 10 children, including him and the Subway sandwich (lol), the former host of Quake’s House on WBLS-FM, proud Father of four, "who DNA test them every year" (lol) and star of the smash-hit comedy special "These Ain’t Jokes", Earthquake still gains an enormous, fun-loving following thanks to his frequent appearances on HBO, BET, Comedy Central, and the late-night talk show circuit, as well as the NJPAC.

And fresh from filming his third season of Nick Cannon’s Wild N Out, along with MTV 2’s Guy Court, Anthony "Chico" Bean is never scripted, and says: "For me, trying to remember Jokes I came up with a week before a show, is like a dude with a bad hangover trying to remember how he ended up with one of the zombies from the Thriller video in his bed" (lol). Indeed, he certainly delivered his version of the McDonald's rap song, visiting his friend on Orange Street in Newark, NJ (wow) and Uber and prisoners were absolutely off the hook.

"Chico" is also best known for his role as Andre "Spencer" Williams on the UPN comedy Half & Half. He also starred in the Nickelodeon TV series The Haunted Hathaways.

But, whoa, huh oh, hold on, wait a minute, here she comes, Luenell Campbell known professionally as Luenell, 58 years old comedian of 33 years and actress did not disappoint causing the audience hysterical laughter about her daughter's dancing via her 3rd year dance major at San Diego State University, financial aid debt, Striptease of "Beefy's", young men and older women jests were so much more than you expected. Luenell also open up in publicly sharing her medical condition, whereas she's currently receiving epidural shots to her lower back.

Moving on, Alright, Alright, Alright!! Yasssssss... Next to the stage, Donnell M. Rawlings, member on the Comedy Central sketch comedy TV series Chappelle's Show and "new Dad, old man with a new baby", charged the crowd with "Ni--ger I Ain't Worried About Nothing", flipped the lyrics all church like and went in on his Mom's "look at God",  the movie, Fences being too long and Viola Davis' line, "and I was standing there with you!!" Oh God! Words cannot begin to describe the amount of hearty amusement when he compared that line to the DMV, as well as thoughts on President Trump winning the election, his brother being 50 shades of gay (too funny), the white version of Pastor Shirley Caesar's food song ("You Name It" #UNameItChallenge), colored people and unsweetened tea and "we're see about that in the morning"...I was done!

However, immediately following that, Lil Duval, finalist on BET's comedy competition series Coming to the Stage and regular to the MTV2 shows Guy Code and Hip Hop Squares, host of the viral video show Ain't That America on MTV2, rocked it as being the least likely, girls and ex-boyfriends, "You're a Wild Boy!", women are sick, women cheating, women on the side ("pick a team"),  single ladies and their 11:00pm lonely hour; dating, step-parenting "looking for weed" and Yasssssss.... (lol) I cant's stop shaking my head!

And if that wasn't enough, rounding and closing out the show was none other than witty man, Antoine "DeRay" Davis who began his career in comedy clubs. Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, he won the Comedy Central Laugh Riots Competition and appeared on the Cedric the Entertainer Tour. Known for his role as Ray-Ray the Hustle Guy in Barbershop and Barbershop 2: Back in Business.

DeRay paraded around jokes about Duval and could not resist addressing the out dated Question, "why was he killed off Empire?" Answer: "if I knew I would be, I wouldn't have shown up for work that day!" (lol), sidesplitting humor regarding his Mother, Terrance Howard and Donald Trump keeping it 100 and a political platform, food for thought proceeded thereafter:

DeRay purposely took a moment to remind colored people to be aware and read the signs. He punned about the gun laws, various shootings, color people dying, white cops not growing up in the hood; remaining scared of police, "he'll call the police when the police call him"; an interesting conversation between him and Actress and Model, Amber Rose, in which I choose not to repeat, $10.00 outfits and finally to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, "for without Him, he is nothing".

Antoine Davis has also appeared in other films, including Semi-Pro and 21 Jump Street. Davis' television roles and appearances have included programs such as Reno 911, BET's ComicView, Empire, MTV's Nick Cannon's Wild 'N Out and Short Circuitz, MTV2's Hip Hop Squares and HBO's Entourage. In 2014, Davis began hosting his first game show, Mind of a Man, on Game Show Network.

Although, there's no specific "The People's Voice" to report, How I See & Say It regarding Earthquake and Friends is indeed a no holds barred comedy show that will definitely take you by storm, quake and shake you! Yes, it true, while "A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones", I forewarn you, this show is not for the faint of heart saints, wherefore, gear up for a not your church mama kinda of clean funny! But, still a good time for those to enjoy at your discretion. To say the least, President Donald Trump was the butt of each comedian's jokes. And while the full-house seemed to have had a Blast, the late comers, however, were quite annoying, causing theater goers to consistently rise up and down from their seats.

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center, by celebrating diversity, shall be America's foremost urban presenter of arts and entertainment, a creative and effective leader in arts education for children, a convener of useful and enlightening civic engagement events, and a catalyst for economic development in its home city of Newark.

19 years. More than 10 million patrons. Over 1.5 million children. 2,600 artists. Plus 2 U.S. Presidents and His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

After critical public sector support and an unprecedented wave of philanthropy from individuals, corporations and foundations, NJPAC broke ground in 1993 on the site of the former Military Park Hotel. Architect Barton Myers designed the building, with Newark’s industrial heritage as inspiration. A momentous opening celebration on October 18, 1997 included the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Tango X2, Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Chita Rivera, Savion Glover and American Ballet Theatre. The performance later aired on PBS’ Great Performances.
